Amen, brother. Amen.
Took a little field trip for my birthday last month and rode The Tide, our new light rail transit, into downtown Norfolk. The local rag reports that use to date is higher than expected!
Overall, the rail journey was quite pleasant. The only squeaker was some rubbery squeaking as we rode backwards along several curvy flyovers. Fleeting visions of rollercoasters I have known and loathed were induced. Here’s a few photos from the trip:
Apologies for the spotty posting of late, family matters have been front and center and will remain that way for some time. Sending good wishes to the Occupy Together folks and hoping Congress will pass the President’s Jobs Plan.
Another species of mushroom has popped up in the yard. The cap is waxy looking and its color is a bit like lavender sea glass. Here’s a slideshow of the best shots:
Really, I want to be alone.
My friend Sunny isn’t always happy to be the subject of photographs as this slideshow (and the next) attests:
My internet friend CR doesn’t think the fungi in the second manifestation of the mushroom horde is of the genus Amanita. Since CR knows a thing or two about mushrooms and I used an internet site on which I supplied incomplete and questionable data, the smart money is on his judgement. So, whatever these guys are, they are flourishing and some are holey.
